Rush Hour

Travel. It pushes us forward, physically, mentally, spiritually. We look forward to trips in our minds. Travel expands our boundaries, poses new challenges, and helps us grow and connect with others. Arriving at a destination in a foreign city during rush hour forces you to look forward towards your planned location, to move on, navigating the cabs, buses, cars, throngs of people. This scene I painted from my travels in Turkey summed up a trip that was both challenging and rewarding. The colors, sounds, smells, the visual and sensory experiences stay with me years later, always reminding me to look forward once more and explore our world and its cultures.
